Dermatology Associates has dedicatedly served residents of Winchester, Virginia and Northern Shenandoah Valley since 1967 (59 years) when Dr. H.Brian Landes founded a small Dermatology practice at 133W. Boscawen Street. With the aid of only one assistant, Dr. Landes served the needs of his community until the exponential growth of his practice compelled Dr. Landes to search for an associate. Dr. C. Stuart Buchanan joined the practice in July of 1970 and with his assistance the practice continued to grow, resulting in the practice becoming incorporated and assuming the name Dermatology Associates, Inc. With its incorporation, the practice relocated to 1220 Amherst Street and took on two new associates, Drs. Maria Bogaert (in 1994) and Frederick Wenzel (in1997), both of whom are board certified Dermatologist, who became owners of the practice. After 25 years of continues growth, Dermatology Associates Inc. again relocated, this time to its current location of 1514 Amherst Street Winchester, Va 22601. We continue to serve the Winchester community, neighboring towns of Front Royal and as of January 2026 expanded in the Woodstock area. We have added 3 Nurse Practitioner, Ashley Watterson,(2023), Lauren Shanholtz (1/ 2025), and Racheal Valcour (9/2025). We have provided Mohs surgery for over 13 years.Dr. Erica Mailler, our Mohs surgeon provides exceptional care with great outcomes. She has been with us since 11/1/2024. We are looking forward to celebrating our 60th Anniversary of operation in 2027. Even though Dermatology Associates Inc. has changed it size and location over these 59 years, it has not changed its values or its mission, and continues its time-honored commitment to serve the community by providing high quality compassionate healthcare for both adults and children with disorder of the skin.
