Overview Montefiore is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to serve in its Office of Legal Affairs to provide legal advice and assistance across the organization to all levels of Montefiore associates including directors, administrators, clinicians, and senior executives. Responsibilities Managing a wide range of legal matters including general healthcare issues, contract negotiations, commercial transactions, IT and data use matters, AI-related issues, clinical service arrangements, physician practice acquisitions, HIPAA and privacy issues, corporate governance and structuring, regulatory compliance, intellectual property matters, and patient care issues. Requirements Licensed to practice law in the state of New York. Minimum of 5 years of significant legal work experience, primarily in transactional matters, with a focus in contract negotiation, either as in‑house counsel or external legal counsel. Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
