New Construction Solar Field Technician Location: Bay Area. Reports to: Field Operations Manager. Citadel Roofing and Solar is a well‑established, fast‑growing, fully integrated roofing and solar company with more than 30 years of contracting experience. We provide roofing, solar, and home battery storage solutions for new construction homebuilders, homeowners, and selected commercial buildings throughout Northern, Central, and Southern California. Our focus is new construction. We serve national, regional, and local homebuilders, real‑estate developers, and general contractors, delivering reliable execution and customer service. **Description**: Commission PV systems within one week after installation, troubleshoot and commission systems, perform customer‑service appointments on time, communicate status to customers, conduct solar inspections with AHJ or utility when required, set up ladders for roof or attic per inspector request, provide documentation to the Citadel interconnection team, aid the New Homes Solar Superintendent, and communicate daily with the Superintendent. Responsibilities Track solar installations and schedule commissioning within one week of installation. Update all commissioning records with required documents and photos. Provide weekly reports on the number of attempted and successful commissions. Offer feedback to the Superintendent and crew leads on issues found during installations. Communicate daily with the Superintendent to provide activity updates. Maintain truck stock for the Field Tech vehicle and coordinate with the warehouse to keep stock at mid/max levels. Track and update installation of cell modems when not installed by the crew. Turn in timecards to the Manager on time and with accurate input. Skills Experience in residential roof‑top solar installation. Organized to manage daily activities and travel routes. Experience troubleshooting solar products and installations. Ability to conduct quality audits of solar installations. Electrical and safety experience. Strong communication skills with internal and external customers. Monitor your time to ensure all daily activities are met. Qualifications Basic computer and iPad knowledge. Enphase and SolarEdge knowledge. Ability to set up an extension ladder on single‑story or two‑story homes and work on the roof to troubleshoot as needed. Able to read and understand solar layouts and SLDs. Self‑driven and able to work independently. Knowledge of construction, preferably new‑home production building. Compensation and Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision. Free basic life insurance.
