Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst II/I is responsible for evaluating policies in the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs), CalFresh, and Child Care programs to ensure program integrity is maintained. The Analyst II/I will also be responsible for assisting and organizing comprehensive programs designed to identify and prevent fraudulent receipt of CalWORKs cash assistance, CalFresh, and other aid programs; assisting in performing project coordinator responsibilities over a variety of computerized fraud prevention and detection systems.

Working Conditions

This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance of the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmers’ markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.

This position may be eligible for Hybrid work. In-person attendance is required based on the operational needs of the position and in accordance with  Executive Order N-22-25 the Statewide Hybrid Telework Policy, Government Code section 14200, and any applicable department telework requirements. The successful candidate must reside in California at the time of appointment. Proof of California residency may be required.

Please note: Regular commute is not compensable.

Statement of Qualifications Questions

1. Please describe your knowledge, skills, education, and experience that qualify you for this position. Please include any software or databases you used, reports you analyzed or created, and how they were used.

2. Describe your experience with analyzing and interpreting federal and state law, regulations and policy.

3. Please describe your experience explaining policies and/or procedures to internal and/or external customers. Include whether the communication was written, verbal, or both.

If you have no experience in an area identified above, simply indicate that you have no experience under that heading. A lack of experience in an area does not necessarily disqualify you from consideration. Cover letters, resumes, and applications will not take the place of the SOQ. • Experience gathering, identifying, and analyzing business, functional, and technical system requirements

• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MS Teams, and SharePoint
