About the Position

Job Opportunity – Cardiac Telemetry RN – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Wisconsin

Schedule: Day/Evening shifts, 12-hour shifts (7:00am-7:30pm) or 4x12s, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. 36 hours of orientation provided.

Highlights:

• Work in a nationally ranked, Magnet-designated academic medical center recognized as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
• Care for patients in a fast-paced 23-bed cardiac/telemetry unit with a 1:4 patient ratio and central monitoring throughout
• Manage intermediate and general cardiology patients including coronary artery disease, heart failure, dysrhythmias, post-cardiac procedures, and titratable vasoactive drips
• Collaborate with Cardiac Cath Lab for pre- and post-procedure care, and partner with advanced heart failure teams supporting pre-transplant and LVAD patients
• Unit expansion beginning this summer to include external pacemaker management and broader cardiac surgical population
• Epic EMR system required; strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin or Compact RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 3 years of acute care RN experience with 2 years within the last 3 years in cardiac telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start with strict passing criteria: 100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall passing score
• Proficiency in cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, arterial line management, chest tubes, central line care, and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Willingness to float as needed
