Server / Bartender – Hybrid Position

Halifax River Yacht Club – Daytona Beach, FL

Halifax River Yacht Club is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hospitality-driven Server/Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team.

This is a hybrid position for someone comfortable working both behind the bar and on the dining room floor. Depending on business needs, scheduled shifts may include bartending, serving, banquets, member events, weddings, and other club functions.

HRYC's Food & Beverage department has been under new leadership for the past several months, and we are continuing to build a strong team focused on professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional member service.

Compensation

$11.00 per hour + tip share

A 20% gratuity is added to applicable guest checks and pooled among eligible team members based on hours worked. This structure provides employees with consistent hourly pay in addition to their share of gratuities.

Responsibilities

Serving

• Provide attentive, professional service to members and guests
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system
• Maintain knowledge of current menus, specials, cocktails, beer, and wine
• Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining proper service standards
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests
• Maintain assigned sections, complete side work, and assist with opening and closing duties
• Handle guest checks and payments accurately
• Assist with banquet, wedding, and special-event service as scheduled

Bartending

• Prepare cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations and professional bar service
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked bar
• Follow recipes, portioning standards, and responsible alcohol-service procedures
• Assist with bar setup, breakdown, restocking, and inventory organization
• Work both service-bar and guest-facing bar shifts
• Support servers and other team members during high-volume periods

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous serving and/or bartending experience
• Is comfortable working interchangeably as a server and bartender
• Has strong food, liquor, beer, wine, and cocktail knowledge or is motivated to learn
• Is friendly, polished, and professional with guests
• Is reliable, punctual, and accountable
• Communicates well with coworkers, supervisors, and kitchen staff
• Works well as part of a team and is willing to help outside of their immediate section
• Can remain organized and composed during busy service
• Takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done
• Understands the importance of consistency when serving members and repeat guests
• Has open or flexible availability , including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to remain on their feet for extended periods, safely carry trays and multiple plates, lift and move standard restaurant and bar supplies, and perform repetitive bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying throughout a shift.
