Buyer

GENERAL SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to manage our indirect supply procurement and potentially learning the direct supply procurement. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality purchases. You will play a critical role in supporting internal customer demand, maintaining purchasing compliance and maintaining adequate indirect supplies to support the company operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
• Manage vendor onboarding, offboarding processes.
• Manage vendor relationships, including but not limited to, performance evaluation and contract management.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal teams to forecast purchasing needs.
• Process purchase orders, track shipments, ensure vendors are paid timely and resolve any issues within the procure-to-pay process.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead procurement process improvement initiatives.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier agreements and pricings.
• Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to align purchasing with budget as well as proper payments to vendors.
• Other responsibilities when needed

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel to support analytical requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• 2-3 years of Purchasing experience with related associate degree or high school diploma; bachelor degree in business or supply chain management is preferred.
• Experience in a small business or startup environment working with FDA compliances is preferred.
