Production Supervisor

Your Role at Batesville As a Production Group Leader, you will be responsible for providing direct supervision to production employees in department(s) including work scheduling and assignment, employee training, ensuring production quality and quantity requirements are met, evaluating staffing needs, administering safety, communication, teambuilding, etc. How You’ll be Rewarded Batesville is a family. Generous 401K Matching Program Paid time off Opportunities for development and advancement What You’ll Do Clearly and regularly communicate pertinent performance, work schedule, and activities to the work teams. Facilitate 5S by ensuring 5S maps and assignment sheets are current and by verifying conformance to standard conditions. Report all accidents, injuries, and near misses to the production manager, ensure all documentation is completed and track countermeasures; ensure proper PPE is used per plant requirements. Analyze work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs. Compute amounts of stock and supplies required for operation based on production schedules, and requisition materials from storage areas. Maintain time and production records. Initiate and/or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Directly supervise 20-25 hourly employees in the manufacturing operation, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct, and applicable laws. Perform responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Other duties may be assigned. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in any field. At least 2 years related manufacturing supervisory experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in manufacturing operations. Nice to Haves Computer Skills: Microsoft Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (e.g., Charts & Graphs, Pivot Tables, V Look ups). Ability to work overtime when workload requires it. Lean 5S knowledge and/or experience. Physical Requirements To perform this job successfully, the physical demands listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee.
