Job Summary And Qualifications Seeking a Vascular Technologist / Sonographer who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role: Perform vascular ultrasonic procedures as directed by physicians. Performs non-invasive hemodynamic evaluations and writes test results. Explaining procedures to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results. Positioning patients and selecting the appropriate transducer Conducting scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment by moving scanner over specified body area and adjusting equipment to focus Performs exams properly and in a timely manner Takes patient history and retrieves previous files Coordinates patient flow and checks daily list to ensure all exams are complete Maintaining equipment Maintain department records, reports and files Perform other duties as required Must read and understand and adhere to all Physician Services policies and procedures Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values statements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of vascular sonography Must have sufficient knowledge of anatomy and physiology pertaining to vascular examinations Skill in problem solving Skill in organization Skill in using basic office equipment, including computer, telephone, photocopier, and fax machine Ability to operate ultrasound equipment in vascular lab Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work effectively under stress. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others. Ability to effectively communicate EXPERIENCE: Minimum one-year experience as an ultrasound technologist/sonographer CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Must hold one or more of the following credentials: Registered Vascular Tech, Registered Cardiac Sonographer OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in accordance with state regulation and clinical specialty*. Certification through ARDMS OR ARRT is required.
