Compliance Management Auditor

Individuals with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences are served through a broad spectrum of treatment settings, including community-based homes and supported apartments, vocational training programs, family care homes and consulting services. We are currently seeking a Compliance Auditor to join our Compliance & Risk Management team. In this essential role, you will partner with leadership across the organization to conduct operational and compliance audits, evaluate business practices, identify risks, and recommend process improvements that support quality care and regulatory compliance. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while building collaborative relationships with leaders throughout the organization and making a meaningful impact on programs serving individuals with emotional, behavioral, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. You will work with other dedicated professionals. We offer: Compensation:$60,000-$65,000annually (commensurate with experience) This opportunity is largely remote Excellent benefits ASCEND:Tuition assistance and continuing education support Flexible schedule-40 hours/week What You'll Do Conduct compliance, operational, and internal audits across programs throughout New Jersey Evaluate business practices, procedures, and management controls for effectiveness and compliance Analyze data, documentation, records, reports, and operational processes Develop audit workplans, testing procedures, audit reports, and recommendations Present findings and collaborate with leadership to implement corrective actions and process improvements Assist in maintaining and strengthening internal controls and organizational policies Review regulatory compliance related to licensing, Medicaid, Department of Human Services (DHS), and other applicable requirements Perform data analysis and prepare business recommendations for leadership Support organizational initiatives focused on quality, risk mitigation, and operational excellence Travel throughout New Jersey to conduct audits and reviews in various programs and locations What Makes This Role Unique Opportunity to influence quality, compliance, and operational excellence across an entire statewide organization High level of visibility and collaboration withexecutiveand program leadership Variety in work assignments with exposure to multiple service lines and operational functions Ability to make meaningful recommendations that improve services, reduce risk, and strengthen organizational effectiveness Autonomy to manage projects and conduct audits with minimal supervision Qualifications Required High school Diploma or equivalent Experience in Compliance, Auditing, Quality Improvement, Risk Management, Operations, Finance, or a related discipline Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to prepare clear, concise, and professional reports and audit documentation Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams Proficiency in data analysis and interpreting complex information Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Social Services, or a related field Prior auditing and/or compliance experience within a social services, healthcare, behavioral health, or non-profit environment Knowledge of regulations governing programs serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities Familiarity with New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS), Medicaid, licensing, and regulatory requirements Experience conducting operational, compliance, financial, or quality audits Travel Requirements Frequent travel throughout the State of New Jersey is required Travel may occur with little to no advance notice based on organizational needs Reliable transportation and the ability to travel statewide are essential Company Overview Devereux is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit organizations, providing services, insight and leadership in the evolving field of behavioral healthcare.
