Pediatric Nurse ( Must have Pediatric experience)

Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing services to pediatric patients in accordance with Family First Homecare policies, the State Nurse Practice Acts and applicable State and Federal regulations. Perform admission, transfer, re‑certification, resumption of care and discharge paperwork as assigned. Maintain an up‑to‑date clinical record for each patient, meeting required documentation deadlines. Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing service to the patient and family on an ongoing basis. Consult with physicians about alterations in patient care plans, document changes and report all changes to the nurse supervisor. Mentor and coach new employees during patient‑specific orientations. Educate patients and caregivers on care needs and related topics. Supervise LPNs and aides in the home as assigned. Participate in Family First Homecare’s QAPI program and attend all mandatory training and in‑services. Submit required personnel file documentation promptly. Adhere to compliance and ethics expectations, maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional supportiveness. Assess patients’ physical, functional, psychosocial and cognitive status, and assess the home environment for safety and infection control. Incorporate multidisciplinary data into the nursing assessment to determine physiologic or psychosocial risks. Apply nursing knowledge while adapting care to the patient and family in a home setting. Assess for advanced directives and facilitate action to obtain further information or implement them if indicated. Participate in committees and meetings; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications RN nursing degree and an unencumbered RN license in the state of employment (or a multi‑state license through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact). Minimum one year of demonstrated pediatric home‑care experience. Driver’s license with proof of insurance and an up‑to‑date background screening. Knowledge of Nurse Practice Acts and current CPR card/certificate with an in‑person instructor‑led skills check. Clear HepatitisB and TB screening in applicable states. State‑Specific Requirements Florida – HepB screening completed during onboarding; driver’s license with insurance not required; staff are prohibited from driving patients. Illinois – Driver’s license with insurance not required. Pennsylvania – Additional background screening (child abuse and FBI check), TB screening with two‑step PPD or one‑step PPD with proof of two‑step administration within the last year. Texas – No additional specific requirements stated. Work schedules may vary with shift lengths of 8, 10 or 12 hours and may require availability on any day of the week, including Sundays. Lifting up to 35 pounds without an assisted device is required. The job does not involve substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Training may be performed in an office setting. Pay Philosophy Starting salary range is determined by skills, experience, education, certifications and location. Compensation may include a bonus component depending on factors specified in the compensation plan.
