Job Description

TactStaff EDU is hiring a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a part-time, onsite opportunity in Lake County, Illinois for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity for an SLP looking to supplement an existing schedule while making a meaningful impact with young learners in a highly supportive special education program.

Join a collaborative team serving students in a structured autism classroom designed to promote communication, social skills, and academic success.
Position Details

Position: School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Lake County, IL
Schedule: 0.2 FTE (1 day per week) - Flexible weekday
Hours: 7:40 AM - 3:10 PM (7.5-hour day with 30-minute unpaid lunch)
School Year: August 2026 - May 2027
New Hire Onboarding: August 12-14, 2026
Student Start Date: August 20, 2026
Last Day: May 27, 2027
Grade Levels: K-2
Caseload: Approximately 9 students
Setting: School-based Autism Program (LASSO 2)

About the Program
The LASSO 2 Program serves K-8 students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within general education school settings. Students receive instruction in a structured, visually supported environment that emphasizes:

Functional communication
Social interaction
Behavior regulation
Academic skill development
Independence and student success

Responsibilities

Provide speech-language evaluations and therapy services aligned with student IEPs.
Develop measurable communication goals and maintain compliant documentation.
Collaborate with special education teachers, occupational therapists, school psychologists, BCBAs, and families.
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning.
Support students with expressive/receptive language, social communication, and pragmatic language development.
Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data.

Qualifications

Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement
Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred.
Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder is a plus.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
