The images are then interpreted by a doctor for diagnosis and monitoring of disease. Additional Job Description Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Experience: 0-2 Years Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 6 months of hire. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing. (Continuous) Ability to perform job functions while sitting. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
