Cashier Position
We are one of the largest franchisees of ARCO AM/PM convenience store gas stations in Las Vegas, Nevada. We are hiring for a swing/graveyard shift cashier for a part-time position. We are looking for a team player who can work well with others, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and deliver excellent customer service in a retail setting. At least 1 year of cashier, retail, or sales associate work experience is required. Prior experience in a stocker or merchandiser role is also a plus.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous customer service.
- Perform cashiering duties and maintain an accurate register count.
- Merchandise store shelves and displays.
- Upsell and promote merchandise.
- Implement company policies and goals.
- Perform food preparation, cleaning, and stocking of cooler.
- Perform all regular cleaning activities and other tasks included in job assignments.
- Receive, unpack, and place sales floor merchandise.
- Work collaboratively in a team atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older, as required by Nevada law for the sale and service of alcohol and tobacco products.
- At least 1 year of experience in cash handling required.
- At least 1 year of experience in customer service required.
- Must have open availability.
- Must be able to obtain a TAM Card, Health Card, and Sheriff Card (or obtain within timeframe established by company policy).
- Dependable, trustworthy, and dedicated.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English as required to perform essential job functions, including interacting with coworkers, customers, suppliers/vendors, or other legitimate business needs that must be communicated in English.
- This position is subject to pre-employment drug screening in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check conducted in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and applicable laws.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Ability to move in and out of cooler and freezer areas.
- Ability to operate a cash register.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and squat repetitively.
