- 1st shift, 3rd shift and weekends
- Patience and Compassion: DSPs must be patient and compassionate, as they often work with individuals facing unique challenges.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication with clients, families, and other caregivers is essential in this role.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: DSPs often encounter unexpected situations and must be able to adapt quickly.
- Physical Stamina: Many DSP tasks require physical effort, including lifting clients and assisting with mobility.
- Attention to Detail: Monitoring health, managing medications, and maintaining records require DSPs to be detail-oriented.
- Improving Quality of Life: DSPs support clients in achieving their personal goals, promoting a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
- Reducing Institutionalization: By helping clients remain in community-based settings, DSPs reduce the need for institutional care, which can be isolating and costly.
- Building Community Connections: DSPs encourage community engagement, helping clients build relationships and access resources outside of their homes.
- Reliable Transportation: Transporting individuals to medical appointments, grocery stores, behavior consultant appointments, etc, with reliable transportations
