Your day in Darien, GA

Sun up in Darien, you roll into the yard and scan the lineup: an excavator due for a PM, a bulldozer with a sluggish blade, and a loader scheduled for an inspection before a big job. You start with safety checks, then dive into a preventive service: filters, fluids, and a keen eye for wear. Mid-morning, you trace a hydraulic issue on the excavator, reading the schematics and testing circuits before swapping a suspect valve. After lunch, you coordinate with the crew lead to prioritize a quick-turn repair so the site stays productive. You capture every detail in the maintenance log, tidy the bay, and leave the machines ready for tomorrow’s work.

What you’ll handle

• Keep our excavators, bulldozers, and loaders in peak condition through routine service and repairs.
• Pinpoint faults across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems and resolve them efficiently.
• Perform safety and operational inspections to ensure equipment readiness.
• Document all work performed with accurate, up-to-date records.
• Partner with teammates to sequence and schedule repairs for minimal downtime.
• Track advances in heavy equipment technology and apply new best practices.
• Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean, orderly workspace.

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical certificate or degree in heavy equipment mechanics is preferred.
• Hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or in a closely related role.
• Deep working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and capability to operate heavy machinery safely.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
