Supervisors are responsible for leading their shift or assigned area of the operation, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer expectations. They coach, train, develop, and support their teams while driving engagement and accountability. In addition, they play a critical role in continuous improvement efforts, operational excellence, and achieving key customer performance metrics.

Essential functions include supervising, coordinating and overseeing day to day logistics operations; planning and reviewing all logistics processes in collaboration with the Logistics Manager; establishing work schedules and coordinating activities of the workers; being accountable for site Key Performance Indication (KPI); working in collaboration with the customer in all aspects of operations; meeting regularly with team members to monitor progress towards meeting objectives; cultivating team spirit with a Diversity and Inclusion initiative; carrying out performance evaluations of team members; addressing performance problems through corrective action and disciplinary process; and responsible for implementation of health & safety and security initiatives, practices and behaviors.

Skills and abilities include instilling commitment to organizational goals, strong planning skills, results orientation, effective leadership skills, motivating skills, effective interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, a high degree of initiative, ability to create and maintain professional relationships, ability to work independently and as a member of a team, flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment, capability of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills, and detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 0 to 1 year in direct supervisory/leadership experience, and 1 year or more in experience in transportation, warehouse or distribution environment.

Compensation ranges for the position are from $60,000 to $65,000 annually based on experience. Ryder offers comprehensive health and welfare benefits, to include medical, prescription, dental, vision, life insurance and disability insurance options, as well as paid time off for vacation, illness, bereavement, family and parental leave, and a tax-advantaged 401(k) retirement savings plan.
