Respiratory Therapist RRT - Per Diem Level I - Days/Evenings

Position: Respiratory Therapist RRT - Per Diem Level I - Days/Evenings

Location: Evanston Hospital - Evanston, IL

Per Diem Level I - Must be able to work 48 hours every 6 weeks. 24 of those hours must be on the weekend.

Hours: Shift will vary Monday-Friday from 7am-3pm, 7am-7pm, Saturday-Sunday from 7am - 3pm with holiday and weekend requirements.

What You Will Do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What You Will Need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 24 months of employment
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 24 months of employment
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment
