Assistant Project Manager

Professional Expert Position Under general supervision, the Professional Expert provides assistance and support for projects based on assignments and directions from the supervisor. Professional Experts possess specialized knowledge or expertise not generally required of or found in the standard district classifications. They are utilized on a temporary basis, for specific projects, and are governed by a Professional Expert Agreement. Professional Expert employment does not displace classified personnel. Retired CalPERS annuitants may not exceed 960 hours in a fiscal year. Responsibilities Assist the supervisor with all phases of a project. Work directly with the supervisor in the development and coordination of the project budget, delivery expectations, and tracking the status of project expectations and results. Assist or serve as a liaison with vendors, contractors, and outside agencies to ensure contractual obligations are met. Provide feedback to the supervisor related to project timeline, delivery, reporting, and expectations. Assist with determining the allocation of resources, including department staff and hourly employees, in an efficient manner. Qualifications Education and Experience: Level I – Work experience and/or training in the related job category is required, including valid licenses and/or certifications, if applicable. Level II – Extensive work experience and/or training that is directly related to the job category is required, including valid licenses and/or certifications, if applicable. Conditions of Employment The position is a professional expert, temporary/short-term role. Hours and effective dates will be arranged with the supervisor. Regular attendance is an essential function. The incumbent is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with district policies, including Title IX.
