Rental Equipment Mechanic

Schedule Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Responsibilities Perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections on heavy construction rental equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and complete necessary repairs or adjustments in a timely manner. Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend service life. Inspect, service, and prepare equipment for rental, ensuring all units meet safety and operational standards. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed. Prioritize and manage equipment breakdowns to ensure timely resolution and minimal impact on operations. Coordinate with rental staff to ensure equipment is properly staged, prepared, and ready for customer use. Order, track, and manage parts and supplies to support efficient maintenance and repair operations. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and service requests as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 3–5+ years of experience working with heavy construction equipment or in a rental environment. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues. Experience working on equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, or similar machinery. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform physically demanding work. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. High School diploma or GED required.
