About The Opportunity As a Maintenance Technician, you will provide mechanical, electrical, and control support to production machining, NPI, and facilities. You will support a wide variety of machine configurations and OEMs, including 5+ axis mill turn applications, lathes, boring machines, broaches, compressed air systems, and more. The Machine Maintenance Technicians are responsible for repairing, maintaining, and modifying machinery. This role requires collaboration and critical thinking to troubleshoot unique equipment issues and develop quick resolutions in a demanding environment. This is a hands‑on role in a manufacturing setting and is ideal for someone who is reliable, detail‑oriented, and eager to contribute to a high‑performing team. Location Plainville, CT – 100% on site, Monday through Friday with overtime available (1st shift: 7:00 am–3:30 pm). Responsibilities Maintain and repair all assets to ensure proper operating condition. Provide preventative and corrective maintenance on complex CNCs including 5‑axis milling, mill‑turn applications, and lathes. Schedule and execute on‑time preventative maintenance plans for multiple machines across production areas. Troubleshoot and repair control and electrical system failures involving PLCs, HMIs, servomotors, servo amplifiers, I/O, and field sensors. Troubleshoot and repair machine tool hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including actuators, valves, pumps, and filters. Troubleshoot and repair machine tool mechanical systems such as ballscrews, linear rails, guideways, and gearboxes. Drive forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and company vehicles. Perform other related duties as assigned to maintain an efficient and effective work environment. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency certificate. 3+ years of experience in an industrial discipline repairing machines and equipment. 3+ years of experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical repair. Must have machine electrical repair skills. Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience with one or more CNC control systems: Siemens, Fanuc, Heidenhain, Allen Bradley, or Okuma. 5+ years of experience as a maintenance technician or field service engineer. Experience installing, aligning, and commissioning 3‑ and 5‑axis machines in an aerospace environment. Experience adjusting CNC geometry components, including straightness, squareness, linear accuracy, servo tuning, and tool center point control. Experience in the application and operation of precision machine tools in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Experience operating a forklift and related equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and drawings. Ability to write detailed repair reports (advanced MS Office skills). Ability to use power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment. Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to company policies, quality policies, and industry standards. Detail oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency. Analytical thinker who identifies root causes and implements permanent solutions. Self‑motivated and able to work well with others. Some plumbing experience. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Working Conditions Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using personal protective equipment. Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, and twist. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Capable of being forklift and scissor lift certified. Must be able to climb ladders, work on platforms, and climb stairs. Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
