Job Description


The UAB Heersink School of Medicine, Department of Surgery is currently recruiting faculty candidates to be considered for a tenure track or non-tenure track faculty appointment in the Division of Cardiothoracic as an Adult Heart Transplant surgeon . The successful candidate will be expected to meet clinical, research and teaching needs in the Department of Surgery. Preference may be given to candidates that have successfully completed an accredited fellowship. UAB's national and international prominence in adult cardiac, pediatric and thoracic surgery is attributed to the men and women whose thoughts, work, research and dedication to medicine began in 1950. Our rich history of innovation led to the significant advances that continue to benefit today's patients. In addition to our focus on patient care, we also provide an environment that supports the education of health professionals and encourages advanced research to further medical science.

Required Qualifications


The successful candidate will hold an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. and will be an outstanding leader and highly skilled, widely recognized in the field with a strong track record. Candidate should have substantial professional work experience in one or more areas of research, teaching and/or service.
