Construction Laborer

Skillforce is seeking construction laborers to support a new construction project in the Richmond, VA area. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years experience with a strong work ethic.


Pay and Schedule:

Pay: $18-20 per hour

Schedule: Minimum of 40 hours per week

Qualifications:

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy objects, standing, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Basic understanding of construction site safety practices and willingness to follow safety protocols.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in construction or a related labor-intensive field.
• Familiarity with common construction tools and equipment.
• Certification in OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour Construction Safety training.
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction plans or blueprints.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving construction materials and equipment on-site.
• Prepare and clean construction sites by removing debris, hazardous materials, and waste.
• Support skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers by providing necessary tools and materials.
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Help with site layout and measurements as directed by supervisors.
• Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition and report any malfunctions.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and contribute to a culture of safety on the job site.
