HR Business Partner

Compensation: $80,000-$100,000 Location: Grand Rapids, MI | In-Office
Position Overview

The HR Business Partner serves as the primary HR partner to leaders and employees across a growing professional services organization of approximately 100 employees. This is a highly hands-on role for an HR professional who can operate independently, build strong relationships across all leadership groups, and provide practical solutions to a broad range of HR needs.

Working as part of a small HR team, this individual will wear many hats and be equally comfortable advising leadership on employee matters, rolling up their sleeves to recruit talent, addressing performance concerns, supporting benefits and HR programs, and managing multiple priorities at once. The successful candidate is a driver who takes ownership, moves quickly, and doesn't wait for someone else to solve the problem.

HR Business Partnership

• Partner closely with leaders across the organization to understand business needs and provide practical HR guidance and solutions.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to managers on employee relations, performance issues, organizational needs, and HR policies.
• Coach managers through difficult employee situations, including performance concerns, conflict, and corrective action.
• Ensure HR practices are consistently aligned with business objectives and organizational culture.
• Build strong relationships and credibility with employees and leadership at all levels.

Talent Acquisition

• Own and execute recruiting activities from intake through offer and onboarding.
• Partner directly with hiring managers to understand needs, develop recruiting strategies, and move searches forward.
• Source, screen, interview, and assess candidates as needed - this is a roll-up-your-sleeves recruiting role .
• Build and manage relationships with staffing and recruiting partners when external support is appropriate.
• Help strengthen the organization's talent pipeline and candidate experience.

HR Operations & Employee Support

• Support the administration of benefits, HR programs, policies, and employee lifecycle processes.
• Partner with payroll and the HR Generalist to ensure employees and managers receive timely, accurate HR support.
• Assist with HR compliance, employee documentation, investigations, and other day-to-day HR needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and the overall employee experience.

Performance & Development

• Partner with managers to address performance challenges and establish clear expectations and accountability.
• Support performance management processes, goal setting, feedback, and employee development.
• Help identify training and development opportunities that support both employees and business needs.

What We're Looking For

• A hands-on HR professional who enjoys being close to the business and solving problems.
• Strong HR Business Partner experience with the ability to advise and influence leaders.
• Demonstrated experience with employee relations, performance management, recruiting, and HR operations.
• Comfortable personally recruiting talent while also leveraging staffing and recruiting partners.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities without a large team or extensive resources .
• A self-starter who takes ownership, follows through, and can move between strategic thinking and tactical execution.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced professional services environment where priorities can change quickly.
• Professional services experience is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience with demonstrated business partnership experience.

Contract positions


Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.


Permanent placed employees
