AVP, MBS Research

This role is regulated by FINRA As an Assistant Vice President for MBS Research at a major International Bank, you will focus on all aspects of the $12 trillion US residential mortgage market, with a focus on Agency and non-Agency RMBS as part of the II ranked team. Your primary goal is to assist in formulating and articulating the team’s strategy in those markets. You will work in the securitized products research team, which is a global team that is a key component of the company’s credit division, and you will also be a part of the team that covers Agency MBS, non-Agency RMBS, CMBS, and ABS. Colleagues who perform ‘onsite’ roles will spend four or five days a week working onsite, depending on the requirements of their role and business area. What will you be doing?

• Becoming a subject matter expert on the US mortgage market and Agency and non-Agency RMBS
• Assisting in the regular publication of Agency and non-Agency RMBS research
• Learning to generate original ideas and producing timely written research
• Building/ maintaining/ improving relevant datasets, frameworks, and processes with high attention to detail
• Responding to ad-hoc queries from investors and internal stakeholders in a timely manner
• Assisting in creating presentation and marketing materials
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
• Contributing to maintaining a positive working environment within Securitized Products Research

What we’re looking for: Economics, fixed income, or MBS/RMBS experience Bachelor’s or an advanced degree in a quantitative field Solid communication and writing skills Organized, with attention to detail This role requires FINRA licensing: SIE, S63, and S7 Skills that will help you in the role:

• Ability to work in a high paced, market driven team environment
• Ability to work with data using Microsoft Excel, SQL, Python, or 1010 Data
• Your analytical and problem-solving skills and a resourceful, entrepreneurial spirit will help you work effectively in our team environment
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a time sensitive environment whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail
