This role is well-suited for experienced manufacturing operations managers, production supervisors, and plant managers with a background in leading teams and driving performance across complex production environments. The Production Manager supports continuous improvement initiatives and ensures manufacturing processes meet quality, regulatory, and operational standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead daily production operations to ensure manufacturing targets, quality standards, and production schedules are met consistently.Manage and develop production teams responsible for equipment setup, process monitoring, and manufacturing output within a regulated environment.Oversee manufacturing equipment and systems to ensure reliable production performance and minimize downtime.Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to resolve production challenges and optimize process stability.Implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives focused on production efficiency, scrap reduction, cycle time, and process capability.Monitor key production metrics including yield, equipment efficiency, and throughput to drive measurable operational improvements.Ensure compliance with quality systems, manufacturing documentation, and regulatory requirements associated with medical device production.Coordinate preventative maintenance programs with maintenance and technical teams to sustain production continuity.Success in This Role Looks LikeDelivering consistent production output that meets quality, safety, and schedule requirements across manufacturing operations.Driving measurable improvements in manufacturing efficiency through process optimization, lean initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration.Building strong working relationships with engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to support operational excellence.Identifying and resolving production challenges quickly to minimize downtime and maintain manufacturing continuity.Leading a production team that demonstrates a clear culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.Position RequirementsThis Position Requires the Following Skills and AttributesBachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent experience in a manufacturing leadership role.Demonstrated experience managing or supporting production operations and manufacturing teams within a fast-paced production environment.Ability to troubleshoot production issues related to equipment, materials, and process performance.Familiarity with manufacturing performance metrics such as cycle time, scrap rates, yield, and overall equipment efficiency (OEE).Experience applying continuous improvement methodologies within a production or manufacturing environment.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and operational leadership skills.Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams and production personnel across all levels of a manufacturing organization.PreferredThe Following Skills and Attributes Are PreferredExperience in a regulated manufacturing environment such as medical device, aerospace, automotive, or electronics manufacturing.Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), or documentation practices associated with regulated industries.Experience leading lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or process optimization programs within a production setting.BenefitsCompetitive compensation range: $85000 - $95000 / year (California).Comprehensive benefits package.Training and mentorship opportunities.On-campus wellness activities.Education reimbursement program.401(k) program with discretionary employer match.Generous vacation accrual and paid holiday schedule.Please note that the compensation range may be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, experience.
