Oncology Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse in Oncology provides specialized nursing care to adult patients with leukemia and lymphoma in an inpatient setting. They collaborate with physicians to develop and implement personalized care plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ needs and develop individualized care plans based on clinical evaluations and diagnoses.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions tailored to oncology patients, including IV insertion and medication administration.
• Manage and coordinate patient care activities, documenting all nursing actions according to standards of practice.
• Advocate for evidence-based practices and support the adoption of innovative care delivery methods.
• Educate patients and families on treatment procedures, side effects, and self-care strategies.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies related to oncology nursing.

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in acute adult oncology, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma, in an inpatient setting.
• Hold an ASN with at least a BSN preferred.
• Be licensed as a Registered Nurse in NJ or hold a multi-state compact license.
• Maintain current BLS certification through AHA; additional certifications such as Telemetry and Chemo Certification (preferred).
• Demonstrate proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and basic nursing skills.
• Hold current ACLS, BLS, and chemo certification.
