Construction Manager

The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution of utility-scale renewable energy construction projects through all phases of development and construction. This position reports to the assigned Project Manager or designated senior leadership representative and plays a critical role in ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable regulations and quality standards. The role requires frequent travel to project sites, approximately 75% of the time or as dictated by project requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee utility-scale renewable energy construction projects throughout all stages of execution. Develop, maintain, and implement project construction schedules and execution plans. Coordinate activities among suppliers, contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders. Manage and monitor site logistics, construction sequencing, and resource allocation. Assist with contract negotiations and the procurement of construction services and materials. Ensure all construction activities are completed according to project schedules, budget requirements, engineering specifications, and applicable codes and standards. Direct and oversee subcontractor performance, quality, and compliance. Coordinate inspections, permitting activities, and interactions with regulatory and governmental authorities through project completion. Manage project closeout activities, acceptance procedures, punch‑list completion, and warranty‑related work. Lead site safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate construction activities with third‑party engineers, consultants, and technical stakeholders. Collaborate with project teams to maintain effective communication and achieve project objectives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline preferred. Minimum of 5–7 years of experience managing large‑scale construction projects. Experience with utility‑scale infrastructure, power generation facilities, renewable energy projects, transmission and distribution systems, or similar industrial construction projects preferred. Willingness and ability to travel extensively based on project requirements. Proficiency with project management software, including Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling tools. Strong technical aptitude and understanding of construction processes and project execution. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to perform effectively in fast‑paced environments and manage competing project demands. Demonstrated leadership skills with a collaborative, team‑oriented approach. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing renewable energy construction projects, including solar, wind, battery energy storage, microgrid, or other power infrastructure projects. Knowledge of utility‑scale construction methodologies, site development, and electrical infrastructure installation. Familiarity with contract administration, procurement processes, and subcontractor management. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams. Combination of office and field‑based work environments. Office setting with typical professional business conditions. Construction site environments requiring regular outdoor work and exposure to varying weather conditions. Noise levels may range from low to moderate in office settings and moderate to high at active construction sites. Frequent travel and extended site presence may be required depending on project demands.
