Medical Assistant Opportunity

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's Medical Facility in Lafayette, LA 70506. This is a 3-month assignment (Possibilities of extension or conversion) and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Lafayette, LA 70506

Duration: 3 months contract (Possibilities of extension)

Pay rate: $20-23/hr. On W2 (Pay rate is based on experience)

Schedule: Mon – Thu from 7:45 am to 4:45 pm and Friday from 8 am to 2:30 pm (40 hrs./ wk.)

Travel: As needed for coverage in Baton Rouge, LA.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist providers with patient care by following through on treatment plans and provider orders
• Take and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Perform blood draws and specimen collection as applicable
• Conduct x-rays if certified and authorized
• Support daily clinical operations and participate in direct patient care activities
• Maintain accurate patient records and update documentation within the medical record system
• Monitor exam rooms, supplies, and clinical equipment to ensure readiness for patient care
• Communicate with patients regarding appointments, care instructions, and follow-up needs
• Adhere to clinic, hospital, safety, and infection control protocols

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a hospital/ clinic setting.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification/ Registration. (preferred, not required)
