STUDENT NURSE INTERN

Job Overview This position is available for selected student nurses from selected TriHealth Education Partners prior to beginning their senior year of their formal nursing education program. The position provides an opportunity to work alongside a selected charge nurse and partner with the RN to learn and develop a foundation as a future professional nurse. The student nurse intern may provide assistance and/or perform basic activities of daily living and specified treatments and procedures under the supervision of the nurse overseeing their internship. They may also perform clerical duties and non-direct patient care activities as assigned/directed by an RN. They are qualified to function as a Student Nurse PCA. The charge nurse partner may delegate oversight for the student to another RN. This position requires the interpersonal skills to communicate with respect and compassion to customers; communicate information through various telecommunication devices and assist in coordinating patient flow. They demonstrate an interest in learning and developing as a future professional RN. They may work additional shifts in the capacity of a Student Nurse PCA when not working directly with the charge nurse partner in the Student Nurse Intern role.
