At CECO, you'll be part of a growing, dynamic team committed to a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future.The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer is responsible for engineering and design of instruments & control systems for processing equipment packages. Work is both technical and hands-on in nature and relies on experience and independent judgment to perform the functions of the job. Other responsibilities include reviewing customer specifications and clarifying scope of work for projects. Reviews and analyzes documentation, materials, and calculations, to ensure compliance with customer, product, safety, quality, and industry standards and requirements. Set engineering standards and direction focused on continuous improvement, increased efficiency, and cost reduction. This position prepares detailed 2-D and 3-D Autocad drawings of projects during the design phase. He or she will ensure that drawings are accurate and completed in a time efficient manner.Your Responsibilities Will Be:Establishes scope and detailed requirements for all projects with Instrumentation and Controls.Reviews customer specifications and prepares technical specifications defining the control requirements on the project for third party control system Design/Manufacturing Company. Reviews and manages deliverables of the control system to ensure adherence to the requirements of the project.Provides engineering support to procurement for instrumentation and control systems, to develop alternatives which meet specifications, lead times and cost.Works in conjunction with Project Managers/Project Engineers/Designers to ensure that project scope of work for equipment package control system design are clearly defined for the project.Support applications / sales team for instrumentation & control design and specifications and on technical issues related to preparation of proposals.Finalizes control system architecture for the equipment package and selects control system hardware based on customer specification and project requirement.Prepare Bills of Materials and Component Specifications.Prepare 2-D and 3-D Autocad General arrangement drawingsCommunicates and follows-up regularly with team members to ensure tasks are completedRegularly reports status to project stakeholders through multiple formal communication methodsOwns the technical analysis of customer inquiries, control RFQs, or tenders, to determine proposal requirements, and scope of supply.Commercial quotation activities include the development of technical descriptions, cost estimates, project schedules & commercial terms.Communicate directly with internal and external customers, evaluate on-site project conditions during tendering phase.Understands hazardous area classification requirements to finalize, design and layout of the electrical/control instrumentation on a package.Sizes instrument cables, junction boxes, conduit, cable trays and layout of instrument/electrical on the package within the guidelines of Oil & Gas industry codes and standards.Prepares controls schematic, P&ID, cable schedule, wiring diagrams and logic diagrams.Designs, develops, and debugs PLC based programs and electrical control systems.Provides support to manufacturing during assembly of the package, inspection, calibration, loop checking, and factory acceptance test (FAT).Can support start-up assistance during commissioning of equipment package at site.Develops operating procedures, acceptance test and validation test plans and protocols.Develops engineering design tools and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of work.Identifies and executes product standardization opportunities and participates in new product development programs.Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electronics/Control Engineering required4+ years Instrument & Controls Engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentAbility to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of instrument & controls system design and its application for Oil & Gas process equipment packages.Experience in programming PLCs, HMI, sequence logic design, PID loop design and implementation.Technical skills to create, read, and understand Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&IDs).Demonstrate a broad knowledge of industry standards (API, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, IEC, etc.).Advanced PC skills including MS Excel and CAD skillsLogical, analytical, and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and presentation skillsWorks well in a cross-functional, open-communication environment.ADA Requirements:Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job. Visits to our manufacturing facility and suppliers' facilities is required to monitor active projects and address design issues.Compliance with company attendance standards.Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
