Boat Operator - Dredging

Overview Boat Operator - Tender who can operate and maintain a work boat in a marine construction or dredging environment. You must have at least 3 to 5 years of dredging or marine construction experience. Starting hourly pay range: $20.00 to $25.00, based on experience, skills, and current certifications/licenses. Responsibilities Operate in proximity to work areas to anticipate the needs of the crew and the Dredge Operator. Prepare tools and operate boats and equipment for crew members for the work being performed. Maintain all vessel equipment in good working order and ensure the vessel is clean, stocked with supplies and spare parts as needed. Complete the Daily Boat Maintenance Log/Checklist (mandatory). Comply with safety practices, rules, and regulations while performing duties and report unsafe conditions or practices following company procedures. Facilitate alignment, movement of boats, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials. Assist in performing maintenance as needed. Assist with washing and maintaining boats and equipment in proper working order. Keep work areas clean and organized. Work as a team and fulfill other duties and tasks as assigned. Qualifications Must have at least 3 to 5 years of dredging or marine construction experience. Must be able to travel. Must provide own tools besides specialty tools like a welder, compressor, etc. OSHA certification a plus. Boating or equipment certifications a plus. A valid driver's license is required to be maintained throughout employment. Must be able to work outside for the entire shift in all weather conditions (hot, humid, cold, wet). Be honest, hardworking, reliable, punctual and have the attitude to get the job done. Physical Demands / Work Environment Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly sit, use hands, and talk/hear; frequently reach with hands; occasionally stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell. Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly lift up to 10 pounds; frequently up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
