Registered Nurse (RN) - Critical Care Float

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specialized in Critical Care to join our float pool. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care in various critical care settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and the ability to adapt to different units and patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critical care patients in various Intensive Care Units.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and ensure patient safety.
• Advocate for the needs and preferences of patients and their families.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in critical care settings.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to float to different critical care units as needed.

Work Schedule

This role involves working three 12-hour shifts, with variable day and night rotations. Weekend work is required.

Special Notes

The Critical Care Float Cluster includes various specialized units, such as Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Medical ICU, and Bone Marrow Transplant/Oncology ICU, as well as one mutually agreeable Med-Surg Department.

Additional Information

Healthcare providers may be called off during low census periods without charge or placed on-call for standard rates in increments of four hours, up to one shift's worth of hours within a two-week cycle. Must be prepared to work during two out of three major holidays.

Scrubs in any color are acceptable, and nursing charting is done using the EPIC system. Parking is available at a daily rate.
