Responsibilities Clinical Care: The Graduate Registered Nurse Anesthetist (GRNA) implements accurate, safe, patient‑centric anesthetic care. Professional Skill: Understands physiologic implications and anesthetic considerations of surgical procedures, constantly monitors vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry during anesthesia according to ASA guidelines. Information Management: Ensures appropriate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements and protects information of all forms from unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or disclosure. Quality Management: Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care. Professional Development: Continuously engages in projects that maintain and advance professional competency. Qualifications Education Graduate Registered Nurse Anesthetist: Completion of Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program and a graduate degree from a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs. Current State of Connecticut Nursing License, application pending for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the State of Connecticut. Experience Recent graduate of a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist training program. Preferred clinical working experience as a CRNA within the specified specialty/service line, but none required. Licensure State of CT RN license, ACLS. Must take and pass the certification exam by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthetists within 90 days of graduation. Special Skills Must have strong concentration and focus, ability to stay calm under stressful conditions, excellent communication skills with surgeons, surgical support team, patients, and families. Calm and reassuring manner to inspire trust. Immediate and responsive anesthetic patient management. Flexibility and adaptability.
