Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow - Women's Operating Room

Job Description

The RN Fellow achieves desired patient outcomes and enhances the patient experience by using a focused and integrated approach of care delivery. Inova Fairfax Medical's Women's Operating Room is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow to join our team full-time. This position is ideal for Experienced Nurses looking to change specialties *Required to go through & complete the OR Fellowship upon start . Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign-on & relocation bonuses.

Work Schedule: Full time, Day Shift (40hrs a week)

The Women's Operating Room (Women's OR) has eight fully functional, state of the art operating rooms that provide care to patients scheduled for General Gynecology, Gynecological Oncology, Urological Gynecology, and Robotic procedures. Other surgical specialties patients may be scheduled for, in conjunction with Gyn surgery, include Urology, General, Colorectal, and Plastics. Each operating room is similarly equipped so that any surgical procedure can be performed in any room. The patient acuity cared for in the Women's OR consists of ambulatory, same day admission, and in-patient cases, but patients may also come from the Emergency Room, outside facilities, and directly from home or physician's offices.

Registered Nurse, Fellow Responsibilities:

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team
• Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner
• Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes
• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery
• Attends and participates in all learning sessions assigned for successful completion of the Registered Nurse (RN) Fellowship

Registered Nurse, Fellow Requirements:

• Requires a minimum of 1year of Registered Nurse clinical experience
• Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• Must be RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN
• Basic Life Support with American Heart Association

Registered Nurse, Fellow Preferred Requirements:

• 1 year of acute care; Medsurg or Critical care of Registered Nurse clinical experience
