The Greer Group has a great temp-to-hire opportunity for a Production Specialist with a leading manufacturing company in the Asheville, NC area!

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with electronics, mechanical assembly, soldering, or technical manufacturing experience who is looking for a long-term career opportunity with a growing company.

The Production Specialist will support daily manufacturing operations by assembling, testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting fiber optic connectors and components while ensuring products meet strict quality and performance standards.

Pay: $20.00+ per hour (based on experience)

Production Specialist Responsibilities:

• Assemble mechanical, electronic, and fiber optic components according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications
• Perform precision assembly processes including polishing, cleaving, epoxy curing, and soldering
• Operate specialized production equipment and testing machinery
• Perform quality inspections on connectors, cables, and assemblies
• Conduct product testing and document results accurately
• Use precision measurement tools and electronic testing equipment
• Maintain production records and ensure accurate tracking of materials and finished products
• Read and interpret work instructions, schematics, drawings, and production documents
• Assist with troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts
• Follow safety procedures, ESD requirements, and quality standards

Qualifications:

• 2-year technical degree in electronics, mechanics, industrial technology, or related field preferred
  OR
• 3–5 years of equivalent manufacturing or technical experience
• Experience with soldering and electronic/mechanical assembly
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
• Experience operating test equipment and precision measurement tools preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Must have good vision (corrected if needed), including the ability to distinguish colors
• Comfortable working around machinery and production equipment
