Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience License: State RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: EPIC experience Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver. The RN assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, nursing trends, and technology. The RN is responsible for financial and human resources within the philosophy of the institution. Job Responsibilities: Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided. Assures the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care. This plan must be in accordance with unit standards and based on patient and family needs. Implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety. Reports and/or corrects safety hazards and incidents. Communicates with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. Confers with colleagues to expand the knowledge base. Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solutions. Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. Implements procedures and theories specific to Emergency Department nursing. Performs patient assessment and develops care plans in collaboration with providers, family, and patients. Executes the plan of care and nursing interventions. Modifies care plans based on continuous assessment. Responsible for patient and staff safety through appropriate nursing interventions. Adheres to safety standards and corrects/report safety hazards. Effectively communicates and collaborates with staff, visitors, and families. Promotes a healthy and healing work environment. Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
