Job Description

A Certified Surgical Technician (CST) plays a vital role in the operating room, assisting surgeons and other members of the surgical team by preparing the operating room, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies. They also assist with patient preparation, handle surgical instruments, and maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgical procedure.

Certified Surgical Technician

We are seeking a Surgical Technician to assist the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions and promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. The Surgical Technician will work in collaboration under the direction of the RN and Surgeon during surgical procedures.

What will you do in this role?

• Perform scrub duties for various surgical procedures
• Demonstrates knowledge and application of sterile technique, instruments and supplies needed for surgical cases
• Communicates and participates in patient care activities in direct conjunction with the RN

Qualifications

• Would Strongly Prefer candidates that have 2 years of experience. Preference is acute care experience (1 year) would consider someone that does not have acute care experience.
• MUST have CST certification in hand.
• Previous scrubbing experience is preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Vocational School Graduate

Available Shifts: ( will take call after hours, overnight, and weekend. The call is shared equally amongst all surgical techs in the department. There is a 30 minute response time to call. Meaning that the moment they are called in for a case, they have 30 minutes to be at the facility, clocked in, changed, and ready to start their case. It is ok if they do not live within a 30 minute radius of the facility; however, they are obligated to be at the facility within 30 minutes if they are on call. In this instance, they would need to make arrangements to be at the facility within 30 minutes if called in)

• Days:
  • 630a-7p (3) 12hr shifts
  • 630a-5p (4) 10hr shifts
• Evenings:
  • 1030-11p (3) 12hr shifts
  • 1030-9p (4) 10hr shifts

General Comments

Additional Information:

• Surgical Techs with experience will be given an 8-week orientation.

Salary Range: $22.66 - $27.76 (10 years of experience) - $32.86 (15-20 years of Experience; Please note, they rarely offer the max. Candidates would need to be flexible.)

Sign On: $10k (2 year commitment)

Relocation Assistance: CASE BY CASE

Shift Differentials:

• Night: $3.25/hr.
• Weekend: $2.00/hr.
• Evening (if working 8/10 hr. shifts): $2.00/hr.

On Call Pay: On-call is $4.00/hr. and call back is time and a half
