Respiratory Therapist Reg – Jersey City Medical Center – Jersey City, NJ – Full-Time – Day Shift – Pay: $45.65 - $55.97 per hour. Job Overview The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care services to patients in all areas of the hospital, maintain and monitor mechanical ventilation, manage emergency airways as ordered, and perform arterial/capillary pH blood gas sampling and analysis. Qualifications (Required) Graduate of a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) School for Respiratory Care Knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care as described in the scope of services for Respiratory Care Practitioner Ability to follow directions accurately, organize and accomplish work as assigned Good communication skills to work collaboratively with patients, visitors and the medical team Computer skills in EPIC EMR Preferred Two to three years of adult critical care, neonatal/pediatric experience preferred Certifications and Licenses Required Registered (RRT) or Registry Eligible (CRT) Respiratory Therapist as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Active New Jersey State License to practice Respiratory Therapy BLS certification required (American Heart Association) Scheduling Requirements Full Time 7:00 am – 7:00 pm Alternating Weekends and Holidays Essential Functions Evaluate and recommend changes in therapy according to policy and procedure and consult with physicians and nurses to achieve best practice for maximum therapeutic benefit for patients. Act as a clinical resource person to nursing staff and ancillary personnel to provide appropriate care within guidelines of established standards of care. Perform other duties assigned by manager and supervisor for the timely operation of the department.
