QC Coordinator, Facilities

ROLE
WHC LLC (A Surerus Murphy Company) (WHC), is seeking to recruit a QC Coordinator, Facilities. The QC Coordinator, Facilities serves as the primary quality control point of contact on-site, coordinating across welding, QC, procurement, and construction functions to ensure work is performed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and the site quality program. This role owns material traceability, weld documentation, redlines/as-builts and nonconformance control from field identification through turnover. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced construction and facilities environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate daily activities across welding, NDE, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment on schedule, sequencing, and quality requirements.
• Track submittals and Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) approvals, ensuring current, approved procedures are available and in use at the point of work.
• Maintain and update weld mapping documentation and drive documentation closeout through project completion.
• Ensure full material traceability from receipt through installation, including heat numbers, lot numbers, and certification records.
• Assist with identifying and controlling nonconforming items in accordance with the project quality program.
• Assist with procurement activities and vendor coordination
• Issue stop-work orders when conditions present a risk to quality, safety, or code compliance.
• Review and maintain quality records and documentation submitted as part of the Turnover Package for each system or component.
• Verify completeness and accuracy of turnover documentation prior to submission/closeout.
• Coordinate with project and QC team to resolve documentation gaps ahead of turnover deadlines.

Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Experience

• 1+ years of project coordination or construction administration experience preferred.
• Experience in facilities construction, industrial construction, or energy services environments is an asset.

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Bluebeam, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to comprehend Construction Drawings and P&IDs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is field based and often works within remote project locations. Travel and/or living in temporary accommodation is required. Able to work 6 days on, 1 day off shift with 10-hour shifts for the duration of project.  

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The QC Coordinator , Facilities reports to the Project Manager.
