Roadway Project ManagerAre we the road to your future?Volkert is searching for an experienced Roadway Project Manager to support transportation design projects in our Mid-Atlantic Region in our Washington DC or Springfield, VA office.The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordination and oversight of roadway design projects and roadway design staff.To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.What you'll be doing:Provide plan review and project management for Volkert clients in the Mid-Atlantic regionResponsible for organizing activities, schedules, and reporting in support of assigned projectsPrepare, issue and track project documentation such as contracts, change orders, client sign-off, etc. for all phases of assigned project workPrepare correspondence and documents with clients, vendors and regulatory agencies as requiredAssist with other documents such as invoices and purchase orders; and communicate with outside resources when neededPreparing and/or editing meeting minutes and presentationsAssist with project submittals and bidding activitiesProvide support to project team as requestedSupport our team and client by providing technical and administrative supportMarket new and existing clientsInteracting with clients and the public related to your work and understanding the context of the plans you developLead or assist in the development of project designs and directing designers to successfully execute and deliver project work, while implementing client focused strategiesAspiring to work in a team environment and participating in business development efforts and meetings with clients. Working as part of a team to deliver a range of transportation and civil design projectsIdentifying and analyzing problems using reasoning to arrive at sound engineering conclusionsAdhering to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manualWhat you need to have:BS degree in Civil EngineeringMinimum of ten (10) years of relevant industry experienceAt least five (5) years of progressive responsibility within the industryDDOT roadway design experience. Experience with other regional clients such as VDOT and MD SHA, a plus.DC PE is requiredExperience in DOT design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specificationsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
