Spanish River Christian School (SRCS), located in Boca Raton, FL, has been educating students in a Christ-centered environment for over 43 years. Our goal is to partner with families to provide a nurturing, academically rigorous education grounded in biblical truth, shaping students to become compassionate, courageous Christian leaders. Position Overview Passionate, faith-driven, certified teacher. This individual will teach in a wide range of classrooms from preschool through to eighth grade including specials (art, STEM, music, Spanish, PE). Curriculum taught will be in alignment with Christian values. This position is a gifted educator who is able to quickly connect with students of different age groups and inspire a love of learning during the time they are in the classroom. Their primary responsibility is to fill in as a teacher in the various classrooms as needed, taking on all teacher responsibilities for whichever classroom they are needed. Additional responsibilities include acting as the coordinator for all other substitutes. This includes being the contact person for staff who are in need of a substitute, as well as scheduling all substitutes. This position will also train substitutes on classroom lesson plans, teaching/assisting duties and responsibilities and classroom protocols. Qualifications Valid Florida Teaching Certification Teaching experience Highly organized and able to maintain a changing calendar and schedule Active member of Spanish River Presbyterian Church or another church approved by school leadership A strong personal commitment to the Christian faith and biblical worldview Demonstrated ability to engage students from preschool age to eighth grade, including special subjects such as art, STEM, music, Spanish, PE Core Responsibilities Spiritual and Relational Leadership Model a mature Christian faith through speech, conduct, and daily life Integrate biblical principles into classroom instruction and student interactions Demonstrate daily commitment to prayer, Scripture, and Christian service Foster respectful, caring relationships with students, families, and colleagues Instruction and Coordinator Responsibilities Fill the role of classroom teacher for PK3-8th Grade, including specials subjects Communicate with teachers needing to take time off Train substitutes on classroom lesson plans, teaching/assisting duties and responsibilities, and classroom protocols Add teacher/ assistant time off on the Permanent Sub Calendar Coordinate subs for teachers and assistants (planned in advance as well as ‘day-of’ needs) Communicate with subs to fill needs Needs to be available 7AM – 8PM to receive and respond to communication from teachers, etc. regarding substitute coordination Professionalism and Collaboration Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote a unified school community Attend staff meetings and staff devotional time Support school programs and co-curricular activities beyond the classroom Benefits Include: Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and 403(b) retirement plan Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options Paid time off and holidays Tuition reimbursement for eligible coursework Employee discounts Ongoing professional development opportunities Warm, supportive work environment within a Christ-centered community Spanish River Christian School is a Drug-Free Workplace.
