Medical Assistant Opportunity

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is currently hiring a Medical Assistant in New York, NY.

Position Highlights:

• Pay: $22 to $24/hour
• Type: Six-Month Contract, possibility of extension
• Location: New York, NY
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM; Friday, 7:45 AM–4:00 PM

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care and assist physicians and clinical staff with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Escort and direct patients to exam rooms and prepare them for appointments in a timely manner.
• Obtain and document vital signs, perform vision screenings, and complete other authorized clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Assist physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses during exams, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
• Perform selected laboratory tests and collect/process specimens for transport to the laboratory.
• Ensure specimens are properly labeled and that appropriate orders are entered in the electronic medical record.
• Prepare e-prescriptions for processing to pharmacies as directed by the physician and in accordance with established policies.
• Clean, prepare, inspect, and process clinical instruments and equipment according to established guidelines.
• Provide proactive, compassionate patient care while addressing individual patient and family needs.
• Communicate patient needs and concerns to the appropriate clinical team members in a timely manner.
• Follow all applicable clinical policies, safety procedures, and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Provide coverage at other locations when needed. Travel between locations may occasionally be required based on coverage needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting required.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Proactive approach to patient care with strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexible and adaptable when priorities, processes, or coverage needs change.
• Ability to learn new systems, processes, and responsibilities quickly.

Pay Details: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour
