Job Description Pediatrician Location: Asheville, NC Job Type: Full-Time Compensation: $160,000-$185,000 per year Setting: Outpatient Pediatric Practice Patient Population: Infants, Children & Adolescents (0-21 years) Schedule: 4 days per week + every 6th Saturday (9:00 AM-11:00 AM) Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatrician to join a well-established outpatient pediatric practice in Asheville, NC. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive primary care to patients from birth through age 21, with a strong focus on preventive care, growth and development, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, and family education. This is an excellent opportunity for a pediatric physician who values collaborative care, work-life balance, and practicing in a supportive outpatient environment. Hospital rounding is not required. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive pediatric care to patients ages 0-21. Conduct well-child visits, routine physical examinations, and developmental assessments. Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and common pediatric health concerns. Develop individualized treatment and care plans based on each patient's needs. Monitor children's growth, development, nutrition, and overall health. Provide preventive healthcare, immunization guidance, and anticipatory guidance to patients and families. Educate parents and caregivers regarding nutrition, safety, developmental milestones, and ongoing health maintenance. Schedule & Call 4-day workweek Every 6th Saturday: 9:00 AM-11:00 AM clinic Pediatrician is on call during the Saturday weekend Typically one additional night of call per week A telephone triage service handles initial calls and contacts the physician when escalation to the ER or urgent care may be necessary. Additional coverage on a scheduled day off may be available with separate compensation. Patient Volume Approximately 18-24 patients per day , depending on visit type. Well-child visits are typically scheduled for 30 minutes . Sick visits are typically scheduled for 15 minutes . Qualifications MD or DO degree with completed training in Pediatrics. Minimum 1 year of pediatric clinical experience required. Board Certification in Pediatrics preferred. Active medical license or eligibility for licensure in North Carolina. BLS certification required. Strong clinical judgment and pediatric assessment skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals. Previous experience with Athena EMR is helpful but not required. Practice Environment Outpatient office-based pediatric practice. No hospital rounding responsibilities. Established practice with more than 14 years of operation.
