Make a meaningful impact by providing dedicated occupational therapy support in a school environment near Plattsburgh, NY. This contract role is ideal for a skilled and compassionate professional seeking a part-time opportunity to work one-on-one with a student, ensuring personalized care and measurable progress.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy (OT) license in New York state
- Experience providing OT services within a school setting preferred
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, and support staff
- Ability to motivate and engage students in creative, functional activities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver three engaging 45-minute OT sessions each week tailored to the student’s needs and goals
- Develop, monitor, and update progress on individualized therapy plans
- Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to align interventions with classroom activities and overall learning objectives
- Offer consultative support and recommendations to educators and caregivers
- Document session outcomes, progress reports, and maintain compliance with school policies and standards
