Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Floor Nurse position is located in Sioux City, Iowa. This role involves providing nursing care to patients in a busy medical-surgical setting. The nurse will work night shifts, contributing to a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care. The position offers an opportunity to work within a trauma center environment, with responsibilities including patient assessment, care planning, and coordination.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Iowa state nursing license; BLS certification (AHA); at least 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience; EPIC electronic medical record experience; valid drivers license; work history/resume; completion of skills checklist within 1 year of submission; license verification; copy of required certifications; references including 1 supervisory reference.
• Preferred Qualifications: Heparin dip experience; prior trauma center experience (Level 1, 2, 3, or 4 trauma center experience preferred).
• Additional Information:
  • Must have taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility; local candidates in Madison with a 10% rate reduction accepted.
  • The candidate may be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses.
  • Orientation schedule begins on 06/08 and 06/21.
  • Candidates should be available for holiday work, specifically Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, with 1-2 of these holidays requiring work.
  • Call back and on-call details: Call back at 1.5x with a 2-hour minimum; on-call compensation at $9/hr; charge/precept at $6/hr.
