Medical-Surgical Inpatient (Med-Surg) includes telemetry, orthopedics, general medicine, and surgical care. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, interdisciplinary team coordination, telemetry monitoring, admissions and discharges, internal and external transfers, delegation to assistive personnel, electronic medical record documentation, patient transport, and emergency response procedures.

Skills/Experience:

• Oncology Unit (12-bed): Acute care unit specializing in oncology patients with conditions such as new cancer diagnoses, ongoing chemotherapy or biotherapy treatments, symptom management, infections, respiratory complications, neutropenia, sepsis, hematologic and coagulation disorders, and failure to thrive. Care includes telemetry monitoring, chemotherapy/biotherapy administration, blood product transfusions, IV antibiotics, pain management, central line care, Foley catheter management, anticoagulation therapy, chest and drainage tube management, wound care (including surgical sites and wound vacs), and palliative or end-of-life care.
• Med-Surg/Telemetry Unit (24-bed): Acute care unit managing a wide range of conditions including infections, respiratory complications, sepsis, coagulation disorders, urologic issues, cardiac conditions, failure to thrive, substance withdrawal, dementia, behavioral health concerns, and end-of-life care needs. Treatments include IV fluids and antibiotics, central line care, anticoagulation therapy, chest and drainage tubes, nephrostomy tubes, Foley catheters, ostomy and wound care, pain management, pre- and post-surgical care, and support for patients requiring close observation.
• Med-Surg/Telemetry Unit (35-bed): Acute care setting providing care for patients with complex medical, surgical, cardiac, and behavioral health conditions. Responsibilities and treatments are similar to other Med-Surg units, including IV therapies, cardiac monitoring, wound care, and coordination of care for patients with multifaceted needs.
• Surgical/Medical Telemetry Unit (35-bed): Provides care for patients requiring post-operative recovery (including thoracic, vascular, general surgery, gastrointestinal, urologic, ophthalmologic, orthopedic, and ENT procedures), acute medical management, and continuous cardiac monitoring. Designed to support a diverse population with complex clinical needs.
• Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (13-bed): Focuses on patients requiring neurological and rehabilitative care, including those recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological conditions. Provides medical-surgical management with telemetry monitoring and supports patients with both acute and post-operative needs.
• Progressive Care Unit (25-bed): Step-down unit offering a higher level of monitoring and clinical support than a general medical-surgical floor. Cares for patients requiring advanced cardiac monitoring, including antiarrhythmic therapy, and those transitioning from intensive care while still needing close observation and specialized interventions.

Salary $35.00 to $45.00
