Associate Attorney for Civil Litigation

Job Overview A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented associate attorney in Houston, TX, with 2 to 4 years of civil litigation experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to manage cases from inception through resolution. Responsibilities Assist in managing a caseload of civil defense matters, including sex trafficking, auto accidents, and premises liability cases. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses. Prepare client reports and attend hearings. Conduct depositions and assist with trials; deposition experience preferred. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts. Conduct legal research and analyze case law. Accurately capture and enter worked/billed hours, with a requirement of 160 hours per month. Qualifications Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Admitted to the Texas Bar in good standing. 2 to 4 years of experience in civil defense litigation. Proficiency in legal research and writing. Strong problem‑solving and critical analysis skills. Effective communication with clients, partners, and opposing counsel. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and accuracy in billing.
