Clinical Social Worker (40 Hour)

Introduction The Connecticut Department of Correction is seeking a highly motivated and experienced licensed Clinical Social Worker to serve at the Osborn Correctional Institution in Somers, CT. Position Highlights Full‑time, 40‑hour per week, second shift (Monday‑Friday 2:00 pm–10:00 pm with rotating weekend and holiday shifts). Hazardous Duty status provides eligibility for the State Employees Retirement System Tier IV after 25 years of service, regardless of age. Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments. Develop interdisciplinary treatment plans. Perform risk assessments. Coordinate with community supports and treatment providers. Engage in evidence‑based behavioral health services, including individual and group psychotherapy. Provide care for a population with a full array of clinical diagnoses including mood, psychotic, and personality disorders. Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team including behavioral health clinicians, psychologists, psychiatry providers, and medical and corrections professionals. Participate in collaborative discharge planning with external support services and research‑driven programming. Minimum Qualifications Licensure as a clinically licensed social worker in the State of Connecticut. Preferred Qualifications Experience in correctional or forensic behavioral health treatment. Experience with crisis intervention and behavior management. Experience providing individual and group psychotherapy. Experience working with criminal‑justice involved adults. Special Requirements Must possess and retain a license to practice clinical social work pursuant to Sec. 20‑195 (m‑z) of the Connecticut General Statutes. Must maintain eligibility for participation in federal health‑care programs as defined in 42 U.S. § 1320a‑7b(f). May be required to have knowledge of sign language and communication ability with the deaf and hearing‑impaired in certain positions. May be required to have ability in Spanish oral and written communication in certain positions. May be required to travel.
