IMS Care Center is searching for a professional, compassionate and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of Medical Office Assistant in our Cardiology department in Avondale. The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for answering a high volume of incoming calls, scheduling and confirming appointments. This position may also be responsible for logging new patient referrals and assisting the front office with work related to the support needs of the medical practice. Responsibilities Answer patient telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate person Schedule and reschedule patient appointments Verify and update patient demographics Verify eligibility for patients Requirements 1–2 years’ experience preferred Cardiology experience preferred Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures Ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA guidelines and protection of health information Professional demeanor when working with patients face‑to‑face or over the phone Education High School Diploma or GED Certification: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Registered Medical Assistant, Emergency Room or Emergency Medical Technician, or minimum of 2–5 years of medical assisting experience Experience with office medical procedures and treatments; knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR and scheduling software Front‑office experience in a clinical setting preferred Compensation & Benefits Medical, dental, and vision benefits 401(k) match available Paid time off Short‑term and long‑term disability, life insurance, and a lucrative 401(k) plan IMS is a tobacco‑free work environment.
